17-Mile Drive is a scenic road through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula in California, much of which hugs the Pacific coastline and passes famous golf courses, mansions and scenic attractions, including the Lone Cypress, Bird Rock and the 5,300-acre Del Monte Forest of Monterey Cypress trees.
Visit charming Carmel-by-the-Sea for walkable restaurants, galleries, and great boutique shopping. Check out Carmel Beach at the bottom of the hill!
Located oceanfront in historic Cannery Row, this aquarium - great for kids and adults alike - is one of the best in the country. There are 200+ exhibits, including otters and their new Deep Sea exhibit, with the largest collection of deep-sea animals in North America. Note: all tickets must be purchased online - tickets are not available in person.
There are 15+ winery tasting rooms in downtown Carmel Valley - have fun trying some local California wines!
Huge selection of cheeses – stop and get some cheese and then bread from a local bakery, a bottle of wine and walk a few blocks to the Carmel beach and instant picnic!

Gorgeous scenery, ocean and birds! Tip: Get there early and park for free on the road and walk in. Lines get quite long for cars and parking inside is limited. Recommend starting to the left side of trail for prettiest beach setting.
During low tide, you can take the fat tire bikes onto the harder sand at Del Monte Beach - so much fun! You can also ride along the rec trail, or within 17 Mile Drive, wherever you want! You don't need to do a tour, you can simply rent a bike - they provide all gear.
At the foot of Ocean Avenue, Carmel Beach is one of the most iconic spots on California's Central Coast!
