We're Getting Married!

Brandon and I met online and immediately hit it off with flirtatious banter, talk about our favorite musical artists and Penny! That night he asked me out on a date but considering how timid we both were with internet dating, we agreed to a midday workout “date” instead. The more we spoke on the phone and messaged each other…the sooner we both couldn’t wait to meet in person! We ultimately gave in and impulsively planned to meet last minute with some friends the night before. Even though I was so nervous, I could not wait to meet him! My friends and I arrived first. Fingers crossed. Once I saw Brandon walk through the door, I went straight over to him to introduce myself and give him a hug. We connected instantly with an organic chemistry that I thought could only be found in romance movies! We had our first kiss that night and have been inseparable ever since!

Rose and I had big plans to travel to Europe in the summer of 2020. It was there I had planned on asking her to spend the rest of her life with me. Needless to say COVID-19 flipped the world upside down, and with it my proposal plans. We planned a quick trip to the Dominican Republic for her birthday and I knew I had to make my move. The day of her birthday I pretended that I was looking for the perfect spot to take photos. The day was cloudy (just my luck) and I hadn't found the spot where I wanted to propose. Rose was getting annoyed with me dragging her all around the resort on HER day and she could tell something was "off" with me. I took her down to the beach, the sun peeked through the clouds and I knew I had to seize the moment. After taking several photos of her in the water I told her that I wanted to take one of us. I told her to face some cabanas in the distance and that we would take a "prom style" photo with me standing behind her. Rose argued with me momentarily (because come on, who takes prom style photos anymore?) before finally giving in and turning around briefly. I took the opportunity to kneel just before she turned back around. I asked her to spend the rest of her life with me and well... you know the rest!
