Westport House
Check out the family home of Grace O'Malley, the Pirate Queen of Connacht who ruled the seas around Mayo. The property is beautiful to walk around, with several paths in the woods, a coffee booth, and fun adventure areas for kids. You can walk through the property to the Quay, as well.
Croagh Patrick
A popular hike in Westport! It's not very far in distance, but can be a bit steep towards the top. Hiking barefoot is said to get you into heaven for free (Julia's already got her free pass). So... we'll see you there!
Westport Greenway
You can pick up the Greenway right up the road from the Castlecourt Hotel. It goes for about 2.5km from town down to the Quay. The Westport Greenway is part of the Western Greenway, which runs about 42km from Westport to Achill along an old rail route. It's a very beautiful trail to get your steps in!
Keem Beach
If you have a car, Achill Island (not actually an Island), specially, Keem Beach, is a beautiful drive (about an hour) and place to check out. Keem Beach is now also famous for being the home of Colm in Banshees of Inisherin!
Kylemore Abbey
Whether you rent a car or use Ireland's public transit, the Kylemore Abbey is about 45 minutes from Westport, just across into County Galway. There's a castle, gardens, hikes, and shopping and tours are available, as well!
