We started doing Royal Family Kids Camp together in 2019! A camp for foster children that have been neglected and abused. We have a big heart for foster care. We have been friends at camp for years but in 2023 we both got Covid after camp. We talked and encouraged each other through that hard time. He kept calling me a friend but I wanted to be more than friends. Roger offered to come to my classroom and help me put a huge keyboard together. He has been blessing me ever since. We haven't stop talking and eventually he asked me to be his girlfriend! We are so blessed that God put us together.

Bride side of the story: Roger told me we were going to go to dinner to a nice place with our friends Jarius and Juila. I asked a few questions wanting to know more but I could tell he wanted to plan it. Sooo I tried to do my best and not ask questions even though it was killing me. ha! I even decided to get a new dress and new shoes. So Roger and I got to spend the day together. I got ready and Roger was really quiet. I was like talk to me babe! He was just on his phone. His best friends got to my apartment and then shortly after we left. When we got in the car to leave he said okay we are going to go to SAGU first and he asked me for directions. I was like oh okay cool. So we get there with his friends and we are just walking around. I am feeling slightly confused because I thought we were going to dinner but I am just enjoying being together. As we are walking around we start telling stories of Royal Family Kids Camp or my college days...I was trying to walk but the ground was uneven and I was in heels...he wanted me on a certain side yall. haha We get in front of the Hagee building and were just talking and he says Rochelle and I turn around and he gets down to get on his knee!!! He said, Rochelle will you make me a very happy man and spend the rest of your life with me?! I said always! YES!! YES! YES! YES! Then, he says I have another surprise for you...and my family and friends were hiding around the corner!! I freaked out and said what? What is happening?!?! Oh my gosh! So incredible! I was blown away! Speechless! What a great and thoughtful proposal! Needless, to say I could not sleep that night and was overwhelmed with emotions and thankfulness. God is so good! I get to marry such an incredible man! :)
