Shelly and David first met while working together at Terrace Middle School in Lakeport. Every year the employees did a pool for the show Survivor on CBS. David and Shelly had a side bet on who would win. The loser would have to buy the other one lunch. David won, so Shelly bought him lunch at the Blue Moon Cafe. At the cafe, they talked about music and both found out that they both were fans of a very obscure band named Crackin’. When they left each other that day David kissed Shelly on the cheek and that’s where their story began!

David proposed on Shelly's birthday while they were out at a romantic dinner. Shelly said yes and the wedding planning began!
