Robyn’s Version I met Manny when we worked together at Vinces Spaghetti. He seemed quiet, but nice enough. We didn’t really talk much UNTIL the night the restaurant closed. After a few drinks and a few rounds of hide and seek in the dark, we just hit it off. After a rollercoaster of a night and a few cute dates I was pretty smitten. He asked me to be his girlfriend on December 18, 2014. I knew early on that I could see myself marrying him. When he told me he was moving to Oklahoma, I was crushed. He wanted to do long distance - I didn’t. But our connection was strong and we did long distance for almost 2 years. The day he moved back to California was I filled with nerves and excitement. I didn’t know if making such a big change so abruptly would work out. But it did! We’ve been together now for almost 8 years and although he took way too long to propose, I’ve never been happier and I can’t wait to marry my best friend! We didn’t really talk much, but on the “going out of business” night after a little bit of liquid courage I made a move that night. We started talking more after that and had our first official date soon there after at a kings game. We did long distance for 2 years and she stuck with me the whole time! It was super difficult but we made it work, she made so much effort to make sure this relationship was going to work. Many flights back and forth, so many FaceTime calls and texts I finally moved back to LA where we lived together. Many years after on a hot Palm Springs days I finally proposed to her. It was the best day of my life. And now I can’t wait to marry her in lake arrowhead and start our married life together.
