We’re getting married!

Dakota and I met at Austin Community College when I was going for my Associates’s Degree. Our first date was in San Marcos during the Sights and Sounds Festival. The Christmas lights were beautiful, the carnival rides were exciting, the live music was great, the food was delish, the petting zoo was super cute, and the “ice” skating rink was fun! A wonderful and chilly night. We huddled under the huge iconic lighted tree and just talked about everything and nothing. Definitely the spot where I fell in love with him!

Only about 3 months after dating, I went off to college at UNT in North Texas, a 4+ hour drive from home and Dakota. We still kept in touch, and he would visit as much as he could while working full time; almost every other weekend! He gave his all to keep our love strong and to support me fully during my education, and I love him dearly for it!

Just after our 5 year dating anniversary, Dakota proposed to me during the annual Sights and Sounds Festival! It was actually a total surprise because I had been working as a teacher’s aide, and mainly went to support my students who were performing that night. We got there just in time, and I was so proud of my students singing songs, dancing, and cheering on the holiday spirit! Afterwards, he proposed under the big tree we had sat under for our first date. It was a super sweet and personal moment, I was glad there weren’t too many people staring and watching. Emotions were running ultra high that day! It was perfect, and just for us.
