What should I wear?

Answer

Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. We are thrilled that you are coming to celebrate with us. We assume most people will be semi-formal or dressy casual, but you should wear what you are most comfortable in.

Are children invited?

Answer

Children are more than welcome. But if your child is eight years old or under, you are required to dress them in an adorable outfit. This is a non-negotiable.

Food and Drinks

Answer

We will have different food stations set up plus an open bar. You can grab food, eat/drink, and then grab more. There will be no formal sit-down dinner and no assigned seating. You will not go hungry or thirsty. Food: * Chips & Salsa with Beer Queso * Hummus with fresh veggies * Buffalo Wings - BBQ, Asian soy-glaze, and traditional * French fry bar with beer Queso, green chili, sour cream, and sliced jalapenos * Variety of our flatbread pizzas * Deep-fried Brussels sprouts with balsamic-style glaze * Al’s Fried Chicken Sliders * Mac & Cheese Bar: House-made traditional cheese sauce, Italian sausage crumbles, diced tomato, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms Drinks: Full open bar including a wide selection of beers - we are getting married at a bar, after all!

We aren't registered anywhere. The gift is your love and support, and if you are able to attend, getting to celebrate with you.

Tell me more about the Venue

Answer

We're getting married and celebrating at Two Penguins Bar and Grill. While it's a wedding venue, it's definitely not your typical one! During the week, it is a typical restaurant and bar, but on Sunday, we'll have the entire place to ourselves, with plenty of space both inside and out for dancing, eating, drinking, and mingling. The ceremony will take place on the patio, with the reception following. Water will be available during the ceremony. Food and open bar will be available at the reception. Just remember: This is a no-smoking establishment, and outside alcohol is strictly prohibited (they're serious about this one, but with an open bar, who needs it?).

How did Josh and Robin meet?

Answer

We met online using the dating site Bumble. We first messaged each other on October 22, 2022, and went on our first date on November 2, 2022. Our first date was at Postino, a wine bar in Denver, for drinks and appetizers.

How did Josh and Robin get engaged?

Answer

Josh decided to recreate our first date for our anniversary. We went back to Postino, had some drinks and food, then headed to the car. He'd parked at our friends' place nearby - same spot I parked on our first date. While standing in the driveway, Josh told me he had some anniversary gifts for me to open. I kinda suspected something was up, so I said, "Let's just go home and open them there." He agreed, but I could tell he was a bit disappointed. Found out later he'd arranged for a friend to take pictures of him proposing. Oops. At home, Josh gave me a painting his artist friend made. It was a wedding couple with "The Best is Yet to Come" written on it. That saying has a special meaning for us from a song we both like. When I looked up from the painting, he was on one knee. The rest is a blur of lovely words and happy tears. We didn't get those pictures Josh planned for, but we got a special moment just for us. I wouldn't change a thing.
