Rita and Bennie met in the Army; they were both Military Police Officers. Their drive, motivation, and way of thinking aligned perfectly, but they were both too afraid to admit feelings to one another. One night, they ended up at the same bar, and Rita asked Bennie to dance. Darius Rucker's 'Wagon-wheel' song was playing. Neither of them could two-step too well, but it didn't matter. It was a perfect night. Some time passed before they finally expressed their feelings for each other, and it was a wrap. They spent the first 15 months of their relationship in two separate countries. Rita was in Korea and Bennie was in Iraq. After a little over 5 years of dating long distance, they finally could see the light at the end of the tunnel. One day, while on vacation in Italy, Rita and Bennie took a private boat tour of the Amalfi coast. After touring the amazing coast, the boat anchored near Positano's private island, and Bennie proposed to Rita! It was such a magical moment (and a long time coming). Although Rita is currently working in San Francisco and Bennie is finishing his Army career in Tennessee, they know there is nothing more they would rather do than spend the rest of their lives together....and it'll all be well worth the wait!
