We're Getting Married!

Riley and Matt first met in sociology class back in 2016. Matt strategically sat by Riley the first day of class and the rest was history… What started as a great friendship turned to love soon after. Both Riley and Matt wound up transferring to the University of Southern California where they lived across the street from each other and made countless memories partying at the 9-0 and tailgating for USC football games. Over the years their connection deepened through their shared love for travel, great food, and attending sporting events and concerts. From Maui to New York to their countless ski trips, so many memories were created, but none compare to their summer trip to Croatia in 2018. This was the first time Riley went to Croatia and since then it has become a summer tradition. Now, Riley and Matt reside in San Clemente with their two spoiled cats - Ralph and Ruby. They enjoy going on sunset beach walks and taking advantage of the local bars and restaurants that are walking distance from their home. After 6 years of dating, Matt finally grew the courage to pop the question in the Spring of 2023. In secrecy, Matt coordinated with their families to set up a beautiful proposal at one of the beaches in Laguna where Matt and Riley made many memories together early in their relationship. Although only expecting to go to dinner, Riley soon realized that Matt was up to something as he nervously paced back and forth in front of the restaurant. Instead of going inside, Matt led Riley down to the beach where he got down on one knee and proposed. Hugs and kisses were shared, champagne bottles were popped, and each of Riley and Matt’s family members were there to celebrate with them - it was truly an amazing experience. Since that first summer, trips to Croatia have become a tradition for Riley and Matt, a tradition they are hoping to share with friends and family as they say "I do" at their destination wedding on July 24th, 2024!
