If you're in town before or after the wedding, you can enjoy our favorite Austin activity, and it's free! Find parking near the Mexican American Cultural Center (just put that in your GPS), and walk down the trail to the lakeshore. You'll be able to watch the sunset over the lake & behind the skyline – just like we did on June 8, 2019 when we both realized being "just friends" wasn't going to work.
One of our first dates was a day spent exploring South Congress & Rainey Street in Austin back in 2019. Both have gotten a bit touristy, but we still love to visit whenever we're in town. Rainey Street is home to lots of bars & restaurants, and you can make the short walk down to the lake, near the Austin Rowing Club, to find the spot where we watched the sunset together as mentioned above.
One of our first dates was a day spent exploring South Congress & Rainey Street in Austin back in 2019. Both have gotten a bit touristy, but we still love to visit whenever we're in town. South Congress is home to lots of cool shops & restaurants, and a great view of the Capitol.
An Austin original, and Chris Riggins's favorite fast food cheeseburger.
Anytime we make the trip to Austin, we try to make a stop here for a drink and a bite to eat! We find ourselves recommending it to people all the time, so give it a try if you're looking for something a little different. We suggest the brisket rangoons & the shishito pepper queso.
This is one of our all-time favorite restaurants. It's a little pricey, but worth it for some of the best sushi in America.
Another of our favorite restaurants & a go-to date spot for us in Austin.
