Question

Why did you pick Estes Park as you wedding location?

Answer

I have always imagined a destination wedding with a weekend of hanging out and celebrating with friends and family. I realized that as much as I’d love a Hawaiian wedding, it’s not the easiest or most economical trip for many to make. Estes Park, is family friendly, in the middle for east coast and west coast family, not too far from Texas, and the scenery and weather are close to perfect. We felt like we could share a little bit of the Rockies with our family. We enjoy the quaintness the town offers. It’s not as flashy as nearby aspen, and “just down the road” from Denver. We think when you get to Estes Park, you will understand why we chose this as our wedding location! -Ricki

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

We decided that the best gift is your presence... and that we are very grateful for the amount of love we receive from our family and friends. We’re both blessed with more than enough for a household and a lovely honeymoon fund. We would love your kind words or a favorite family recipe sent to us if you’re inclined to share a heartfelt gift.

Question

Where is the Ceremony?

Answer

The Ceremony will be on the Stanley hotel property. If the weather allows, the ceremony will be outside on Peaks Lawn, with ample space to social distance. If there is an unexpected cold snap or rain, there is a large indoor facility with more than enough theater seats for everyone to space out. This location is inside the Stanley’s wedding venue, The Pavilion.

Question

Where is the Reception?

Answer

The Reception is held in a wedding venue on the Stanley Hotel property called “the pavilion” It is very large and has ample room to accommodate our wedding guests so that they are able to social distance as well. Upstairs we will have dinner and downstairs will be dancing, the Fab 5 Beatles band performing, and the cake cutting etc.... we will make sure to have sanitation options as well and a staff to keep things clean and sanitized. We are not expecting 300+ people. We only sent invites to close family members and friends.

Question

What is a “welcome toast” and who is invited?

Answer

We realize some of our guests will come to town on Thursday, to maximize their trip. We would love to see you once you’re settled in and welcome you all to a cocktail hour and casual dinner. This way we can say “hi” and give you a hug or elbow bump and even give you a welcome bag of weekend goodies! Welcome toast is going to be at the Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ restaurant on the golf course! See RSVP section for more details!

Question

Where is the Rehearsal Dinner and who’s invited?

Answer

Rehearsal dinner is going to be in Hermit Park, at the outdoor Pavilion that’s nestled in a meadow. Please stop and grab a parking permit and park map - carpool if you can as parking is limited. Warning- you will lose cell service as you climb into the mountain! You will not get lost, As you can’t miss the big structure when you get up there. Taco Dinner and Margaritas are being catered by Ed’s Cantina. Everyone is invited to the rehearsal dinner on Friday evening! It’s going to be a casual event so come in whatever you’re comfortable in. We will have s’mores, a fire pit, and yard games! Don’t forget a sweater it could get chilly!

Question

What should we do while we’re in town?

Answer

I highly suggest everyone check out places and book now if they want to do a green jeep tour of the Rockies, go fly fishing, or go water rafting. These excursions tend to fill up fast. Friday, there is a group going golfing. If you would like to join, please let Kevin or Ricki know. We will put you on the list. If you don’t want to bring your clubs, Strata clubs are $25 to rent and Callaway $50. The aerial tram will be up and running! We tried to reserve tickets however they only allow day of ticket purchases and it’s a come and go as you please. Bring a snack and go up and enjoy the views! It’s incredible - the chipmunks are very friendly. Green jeep tours does a great “safari” trip through the Rockies. If you want to go fly fishing, Kirk’s fly shop in town does it all. You will need to get a $17 fishing license. Def check them out if it’s on your list!

Question

What should we do while we’re in town part 2

Answer

Hiking Hermit Park or the National Park is an option. Emerald lake is incredible in the National park. In town are loads of little local shops and restaurants you can spend a day perusing. We also love the snowy peaks winery for a little tasting! The Elk are often in town, if you’re looking for them try taking a walk at the park where the welcome center is. Or drive down to the lake. We’re working on reserving private tours at the Stanley Hotel. We will give you more details the week of the wedding. Feel free to check out the tour info on their website if you’d rather book your own time. The tour is fabulous. It’s why I love the Stanley, lots of history and quirks! Don’t forget there is canoeing on lake Estes. And miniature golf! I hear the craft beer gardens are fun as well!!

For all the days along the way
