We first met our senior year of high school while working at our local Italian Supermarket, Uncle Giuseppe's. We started as friends while hanging out before school to get bagels or hanging out before and after work for a little. On New Year's Eve of 2012, before going to separate parties, we decided to hang out, go bowling and get Taco Bell. That night we would share our first kiss. Almost two weeks later, on Nick's birthday, he would text Kelsey saying, "I think we should date." And of course, Kelsey playing hard to get then said, "OKAY!" with no hesitation. From then on, we would laugh, love, and grow together. We supported each other through college and pushed through long-distance knowing that we would be together again and then we would start the rest of our lives together. In March of 2020, we moved in together to our first apartment. We put our relationship to the test not only by moving in together but surviving a pandemic as well. We learned a lot about each other and continued to laugh, love, and grow together. Over the summer, we decided to move to North Carolina, where we would start a new chapter in our lives.
Before moving to North Carolina, Kelsey wanted to do one last "Fall New York thing." We decided to go Apple picking with Gab (Nick's sister) and Nicole (Family Friend). We left early in the morning to go out east, but unfortunately, we were not early enough. We had gone to 4 different apple orchards before giving up and deciding to go pumpkin picking instead. Pumpkin picking was a tradition that we shared over the past seven years of being together, even when Kelsey lived in Florida. In the middle of the pumpkin patch, Nick says to Kelsey, "Hey, this looks like a good one!" and when Kelsey turned around, he was on his knee asking her to marry him. Little did Kelsey know that Gab was in on it and was there to take pictures and record the big moment. However, in typical fashion Gab, and Nicole were in their little world and only caught the bare end of it. We all had a great laugh and ended up recreating the proposal to get some great pictures and have memories to last forever.
