We're Getting Married!

Remi and Madison heard about each other through Chloe, the groom's sister, who wanted them to go out on a date. So, in May 2018, Remi and Madison went on their first date at Storybook Land. It’s not surprising, then, that their story has been a fairy tale ever since. They hit it off in their conversations with each other about board games, God, and solving all of the world’s problems. Long distance conversation was the defining feature of their relationship. Though their grades suffered for it, they both sacrificed as many weekends as they could, to spend time together in North Dakota. Through Remi losing his phone on a rollercoaster, to Madison, falling asleep during late night phone calls, it wasn’t perfect: it was love.

The couple quickly knew they were meant to spend a lifetime together. They decided to get married in August, after a lovely dim sum dinner with Sam and Chloe Jacob, just 2 months after Storybook Land! Though some of their friends called them crazy, they knew this was only the exposition of their lifetime together. And even though their definitions of “soon” differed, Remi delivered on his promise by proposing to Madison at a dancing and karaoke party with her family, at midnight on January 1 (exactly 7 months after they started dating)! It only seemed fitting to schedule the wedding for 7 months later, on August 1. Remi said it was "mathematically beautiful." Remi loves Madison because she is fun and beautiful! She brings joy and lightheartedness into his life that he didn’t have before. Madison is head over heels for Remi because he is a fantastic listener, a passionate Christ follower, and a thoughtfully, caring person who cherishes others well. He brings organization, wisdom, and a bit of goofiness to the relationship. Together, they want their lives to celebrate the goodness of God, wherever they are in the world!
