It all started on Halloween of 2020, at a party in Chicago’s Promontory Point park. Kyle, fresh off a pickup football injury, limped over to introduce himself to Rekha, the cute new classmate he had spotted in his Antitrust class. A fun conversation ensued, about… uh… how to promote fair competition in the markets? (Just kidding…) Alas, due to remote classes and the city’s COVID restrictions on social gatherings, our paths didn’t cross again until the following summer (though Kyle admits to looking for Rekha during Zoom class for the rest of that semester :) ) (and Rekha admits to ducking all of her cold calls in that class…). We were both in New York City for internships the next summer. Rekha, wanting to get to know other people who’d be moving to New York after graduation, invited Kyle to a party out of the blue. Kyle was thrilled, to say the least. Sparks were flying that evening, and we were both on the lookout for each other when classes resumed a couple months later. As our friend groups conveniently merged into one, we started spending a lot of time together. We’d like to formally and publicly thank our friend Daniel for kicking things off by asking Kyle, “hey isn’t Rekha cute?” and then telling Rekha that Kyle said she was cute. We started dating that autumn, and the rest is history! Since then, we have graduated from law school together (one right after the other, thanks to the alphabet!), traveled the world, moved to New York City, launched our careers, and fallen deeper and deeper in love, and we cannot wait to see what the future has in store for us!
