This wedding is brought to you by Bumble! In March 2018, Reese and I matched on a dating app, where we had regular conversations for a few weeks until an incredibly awkward first date. I was instantly drawn to his quick wit and sense of humor. Reese kept me on my toes but also made me feel so comfortable being myself around him. We stayed in touch with each other throughout the spring. Reese was incredibly patient with me during this time, as I was not sure whether or not I was ready for a serious relationship. One night I finally came to my senses (If you know, you know. And if you don't know this story, it's worth an ask.) and we've been inseparable ever since. There have been many memories made and many milestones passed since we first came into each others' lives over four years ago. I'm so thankful and blessed to have found my life partner in Reese Tolbert, and I can't wait to spend forever with him.
Wow, what a day. Those who know me, know that I am not what most people call a "planner." However, I wanted this day to be perfect, so I checked and double checked every detail. Mackenzie thought she was having a girls' dinner at a nice restaurant so that she would have a reason to get dressed up. The forecast was 80 degrees with 0% chance of rain so that I wouldn't completely sweat through my shirt. And I made dinner reservations at our favorite restaurant the following night to throw her off of my plan. Everything was going to be flawless. And then, ten minutes before she showed up, it started raining... a lot. As I was standing there in the downpour watching Mackenzie and her friend try to huddle under an umbrella while walking up, I realized that nothing in life will ever be perfect, but there is no one else who I would rather go through it with. After only 6 or 7 minutes of trying to get her to look up and notice me standing there, it finally happened. The moment is a blur, but the important thing is that I know she said yes. While it didn't necessarily go as planned, it turned into the best night of my life and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love you, Mackenzie Quick.
