We're tying the knot

We met at Appalachian State University, going into our Junior Fall Semester. We had mutual friends, as athletics was somewhat of a bubble at App State—a good handful of those special people to us are actually accompanying us on our wedding day which couldn’t mean more to Reed & I! Abbey (Kylee’s roommate & best friend) convinced her to take Reed up on a first date, despite him not being “her type” on paper—lol. We hit it off instantly, we shared a love for life in similar ways, Kylee quickly converted Reed into a foodie & he quickly convinced her to attend soccer games—something she’d never actually done. We became best friends & the rest is history!

Our proposal took place at HHI in South Carolina, June 17, 2023 and was nothing less than meaningful and romantic. Reed: “I wanted a place where we could remember it forever somewhere that we both enjoy. A quiet beach and beautiful sunset. My heart was beating faster than you can imagine but seeing the look on your face and what this meant for us was special to me.” Kylee: “We had a weekend trip to HHI planned, just us two and nothing out of the ordinary— we are definitely ‘do-ers’ & are always going in a different direction! Looking back, we had the absolute best time, Reed knowing the beach is my favorite place in the world, we were able to be on our time & do our own lil thing. Saturday evening Reed had surprised me with a beach photography session for the new house, something I’d been wanted to do before we move in this Fall. He really did the most— had Tommy Bahama wicker pillows, a linen white shirt, and of course a bottle of Pinot. We started taking photos and about half way through, he got down on his knee and didn’t stutter a word! It was the purest & most genuine moment I could have imagined. I was so surprised, overjoyed, & trying to soak it all in. We ended our night with pizza & a soda after the shoot and headed home to celebrate with my family the next morning! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Florida!
