How it Started: We met through a mutual friend (Katie) without initially having any expectations. TBH, neither of us were actively looking to date anyone at the time, and went to satisfy friends more than anything. Our first date was at Kermit’s in Tupelo, where Lauren taught Jay how to parallel park (and Reece learned Lauren was a backseat driver). Afterwards, we went to Crave to “get” dessert, but did not get dessert (and Lauren learned Reece only wants skittles and gummy worms for dessert). Needless to say, our first date was not one to write home about. But hey, look at us now! How it’s Going: Now there is a special rule that Lauren drives whenever parallel parking is involved. Reece is now allowed to order chicken tenders and french fries whenever he wants with no judgment, and Lauren knows to order her dessert anyways. Needless to say, it was worth a second date.
After matching “incidentally” at church, we wanted to get a picture. My parents offered to take it for us, but insisted we had to find the perfect spot. We walked back and forth through the yard, finally settling on a spot. After taking a couple photos, Reece asked “Do you want to take one more?” Then got down on one knee. I said yes and put the ring on myself before he could even reach for it! We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with you all (Lauren)! See ya’ll (Reece) at the wedding!
