Our story began all the way back in 2007. We were seniors at Madison High School. We had a few classes together but really got to know one another on the winter track team. It's amazing how well you can get to know someone when you spend hours together at track meets. We passed the time talking about our lives or watching movies on one of our iPods. A special thank you to Channing Tatum and his amazing dance moves for keeping us entertained for hours on end. All this quality time together (and a little push from a friend) gave Sean the courage to ask Rebecca to prom. We became inseparable, spending the rest of senior year going to the movies, bowling, and hanging out together. Like many high school relationships, we went our separate ways after our freshman year allowing us to grow as individuals within our college experiences. Sean pursued his criminal justice degree at Norwich University while Rebecca got her teaching degree at Bucknell University. These paths then took us to very different geographic locations. Rebecca moved to Texas while Sean was in New York. No matter how far the distance got we would reconnect when we were in the same area and it would be like no time had passed. Once Rebecca moved back to New Jersey, we rekindled our friendship and have never never lost touch. We’re going to fast forward a few years to the 2020’s. We remained good friends throughout our 20s and into our early 30s. While the Pandemic was creating distance and keeping most people apart, it allowed time for us to reconnect. We weren’t really seeing many other people and we slowly started spending more and more time together. Eventually we looked at one another and decided it was time to give it another shot. Once Mitten’s (Rebecca’s cat) gave his approval of Sean, we knew it was meant to be. We are both so glad we did and are so excited to see what the future holds for us.
