Briar's Pick: This place is great to hang out, eat bbq, drink beer, and have plenty of TVs to choose from to watch some games. You can find us in the back sports bar a lot. What makes it even better is the central location in downtown Florence!
Florence-Lauderdale Public Library
Rebecca's Pick: I would be remiss to not include the library! I worked here all during college and my mom has been on staff for 20+ years too! The library is a big spectacle to the Shoals. It is not only beautiful, but it is home to tons of great resources for our community. If you are in downtown Florence, stop by and visit the library!
Rosie's Mexican Cantina
Rebecca's Pick: We love Rosie's! They offer a more Tex-Mex menu. We recommend ordering the Mexican Lasagna and a Mambo Taxi to drink. It does not disappoint!
Sam's Sports Grill - Florence
Briar's Pick: Sam's Sports Grill is another restaurant we frequent a lot. It has a friendly atmosphere, good drink specials, and plenty of TVs to watch games on.
Swampers Bar & Grille
Rebecca's Pick: Swamper's is our go-to place if we are wanting great vibes, good food/drinks, and amazing views! Situated inside of the Shoals Marriott hotel that overlooks the Tennessee River, Swamper's restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining. We recommend sitting outside on the patio. Even if it is cold weather, the patio is a great place to sit. It is covered and has fire pits to keep everyone warm and toasty.
Joe Wheeler State Park
Briar's Pick: Joe Wheeler is about a 10 minute drive from our wedding venue. It features several outdoor experiences: sight-seeing, golf, camping, fishing, and more. Guests can book a room at the hotel, reserve a spot to park their RV, or even select a cabin to stay at during the wedding weekend. Joe Wheeler has a restaurant as well that overlooks the river that offers different buffets and menu items each night.
University of North Alabama
Rebecca and Briar's Pick: Both of us are graduates of UNA! It is a beautiful campus to visit. We recommend going to the fountain, and while you are there, see if Leo the lion is out! (That's right: UNA has a real lion habitat on campus!)
