Andrew and I met when we were both visiting NC State for our prospective grad programs. At that time we were both pretty sure we were not going to go to NC State, but we thought why not go visit. Boy, am I glad we did! I remember coming down to the hotel lobby and seeing Andrew with the other students. Right then I knew I had to talk to him. I talked to him every chance I got that weekend and we even exchanged numbers. We texted each other pretty much every day after that until we both moved to Raleigh. Less than a week later we were dating!

It was the day of my graduation from NC State, but since we had already moved to Madison and I wasn’t able to go back for the ceremony, we decided to walk around the neighborhood taking grad photos. Our last stop was down by Lake Monona. After we had finished taking the photos and I took off the cap and gown, Andrew pointed out something across the lake. When I turned back around he was down on his knee asking me to marry him. I was speechless! It was perfect!
