We met at a law school orientation event where we almost instantaneously gravitated towards each other. We spent our first two days texting and just getting to know each other. We went on our first date on that third day, to Chipotle (which happens to be one of Zach's favorite places). It did not take either of us long to know that we wanted this to grow, and that we had found someone special.
On June 7, 2019 one of Vickie's future bridesmaids, Tiffany, took Vickie to the Grand View Restaurant under the guise that they were going there for a "girl's night." Zach had been there with one of his future groomsmen, Mike, setting up the table for dinner, and waiting for the girls to arrive. When they arrived, the host said that the table was not ready and whether they wanted to go see the view (this restaurant overlooks the entire valley). As they walked down, Vickie commented that she would have to tell Zach about the restaurant because it was so beautiful. As they rounded the corner down the walkway to the lookout, Vickie turned left and saw him standing there with the biggest smile on his face. He walked up, took her by the hand, and led her to the lookout where he dropped down on one knee (which popped very loudly, proving he is an old man). He said that knowing her has been one of the best things of his life, that he couldn't see himself without her, that she was his best friend, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. And she of course, gave him a very ecstatic YES!
