Mari and Randy met in November 2021 during Mari's trip to Salt Lake City. Mari didn't expect that meeting to turn into something serious, as she was about to return home to Brazil for 3 months. Fortunately for the couple, Randy was persistent in texts and calls. There were 15 days of conversations until Randy decided to buy a ticket and fly to Rio de Janeiro to meet Mari. It was very exciting, but an unexpected surprise! With this big surprise came more texts and calls, causing them to grow closer and begin to build a relationship. Well... If the night they met left uncertainty about their relationship, the trip to Rio de Janeiro definitely left no doubt that something more could happen in the future. They had a great time in Rio, but before they knew it the trip was over and Randy returned home. Mari stayed with her family for the next two months. Before Mari returned to the US, they already had plans to see each other again. Randy took her on a snowboarding trip to Lake Tahoe. After Tahoe, Mari continued working her seasonal job in Arizona. On their next trip, they find themselves in Las Vegas, where Randy finally asked Mari to be his girlfriend... Guess what? She said yes! Randy and Mari continued dating long distance, they would travel as often as possible to see each other over the next few months. Randy went down to Lake Powell to visit Mari for another unforgettable trip. They spent a night at Under Canvas where Mari planned a private sunset dinner on the rocks, it was a truly special night and Mari even mentioned it would have been perfect for a proposal! Randy agreed, but he wasn't quite ready or prepared that night. During this trip, they camped on the Utah-Arizona border and hiked through the largest slot canyon in the world. The trip also included boating on Lake Powell with Mari's friends, which was a blast! The dating and traveling continued. Mari and Randy felt things were getting more serious, and in July 2022, Mari took a huge leap of faith by quitting her job and moving to Utah with Randy. Mari and Randy's love of traveling and exploring is one of their biggest connections, so here they go again! In January 2023, they traveled to Brazil to Mari's hometown. It was a wonderful trip because Randy met Mari's family and also celebrated Mari's dad's 80th birthday! Randy quickly learned that Brazilians like to celebrate and celebrate a lot! Randy and Mari got engaged in November 2023 and are now ready to take the biggest step of their lives! They are thrilled and can't wait to celebrate this special moment with all of their favorite people!
