We're Getting Married!

John and I met in February 2021 on the dating app Bumble. I had just moved to Georgia due to work and wanting to be closer to my parents during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic shutdown. I matched with John on Sunday, February 7, 2021 (Super Bowl LV Sunday). I started the conversation with a reference to the game, but he was sure to let me know he was neither an NFL or Bucs fan (simply a fan of drinking and hanging out). We continued talking for a few days, and on Wednesday, February 10, we had our first date at Stockyard Burgers & Bones in downtown Marietta. The rest is history.

On June 3, 2023, John and I embarked on a birthday weekend trip to Jekyll/St. Simons island. We enjoyed breakfast from Chick-fil-A before exploring St. Simons island, where we had been during our early dating days. Lunch at The Porch brought back memories, we climbed to the top of the St. Simons Island Lighthouse, visited the Sea Turtle Hospital on Jekyll Island, and shopped at the gift shops near the Jekyll Island Club Resort. Then, the surprise: a birthday photo shoot with my friend Bec from Jacksonville. After changing clothes, we walked on Jekyll Island's beach before heading over to Driftwood Beach to meet Bec. As we posed for pictures, John surprised me by proposing, and, with joy, I said yes!
