Our wedding venue is the site of Baltimore's original Crown Cork & Seal factory, founded in 1898. The company is best known for making the first "crown cork" that soon became the standard way of sealing bottled beverages, including beer...it's known today as the bottle cap!
As local history buffs, and general fans of Baltimore, we thought we'd share a few of our favorite historical spots and other museums that Charm City has to offer:
Baltimore Museum of Industry
1415 Key Highway, Baltimore, MD 21230
This local favorite of ours is located in South Baltimore. If you visit, stop by DiPasquales Italian Market for lunch (in walking distance)! You can also easily visit the Baltimore Immigration Museum from here--a small but fascinating spot!
American Visionary Art Museum
800 Key Highway, Baltimore, MD 21230
A one-of-a-kind museum that calls Baltimore home!
Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine
2400 East Fort Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21230
The site of the Battle of Baltimore that brought us The Star Spangled Banner! It's also a wonderful place to take a walk and enjoy the harbor views.
Westminster Hall
519 West Fayette Street, Baltimore, MD 21201
Visit the grave of Edgar Allen Poe, without whom there would be no Baltimore Ravens...!
Baltimore Museum of Art
10 Art Museum Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218
The BMA has it all...from Matisse to Warhol...and it's free! Located right next to the main campus of Johns Hopkins, which is also worth a stroll!
The Walters Art Museum
600 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201
Right downtown next to the original Washington Monument...and a short walk to Mt. Vernon Marketplace for lunch!
