After matching on Bumble and chatting for a couple of weeks, we decided to have our first date in December of 2019. We couldn’t tell you the date, but know it was on a Sunday afternoon at Inwood Tavern! We then made our way to Rafa’s for dinner and ended at the T.O.T. We quickly started spending more and more time together. We had a lot of great dates that included the Alan Jackson concert, the start of many prime ribs and steaks Daren cooked for Rachel, taking Tucker (the dog) for walks and hikes and so much more before the dreaded March of 2020 hit. So, we decided to quarantine together and haven’t stopped! Since then we have moved to Frisco, added another doggie, Rusty, and both started new jobs at Interstate Batteries. Now we are looking forward to the next chapter of our lives as Mr. and Mrs. Hallman!
Daren had a challenge surprising Rachel...let’s just say she was quite antsy. Daren got creative and called up his buddy at his old boat dealership, Phil Dill Boats. They worked out the perfect proposal. Daren told Rachel that we were going to take out a boat for an evening cruise with a few couples after everyone was off work on Saturday. Rachel naturally was eager to get on the water, so suggested to go early. Daren obliged even though his plan was to propose at sunset. After being anchored for a few hours, Rachel was worried about picking everyone up on time, so started asking a million questions. Daren kept his cool answering each question with ease. However, realized waiting until sunset was not going to be realistic…it was around 5:45pm, sunset was around 8:15pm. So time to make the move, after waiting for some paddle boarders to move along, Daren finally distracted Rachel long enough to grab the ring. Rachel then turn around and met him in the middle of the boat. Daren asked her to marry him and she said YES! Then we celebrated with a sunset cruise.
