We met working at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 2014. Rachel remembers Marcin introducing himself at a department meeting with a Powerpoint slide about Poland, snowboarding, and of course, his dog, Charlie! He was so quiet, though, that Rachel thought he was on assignment from the Poland office for the first 2 years they worked together. Eventually, Marcin started co-managing one of Rachel's private equity clients and Rachel found out that he did in fact work full time in the Chicago office.

After a particularly rough tax season, Marcin invited Rachel out to dinner at The Dawson. Since then, we've enjoyed a birthday celebration for Rachel and an Easter brunch there. We're also holding our Rehearsal Dinner at the Dawson this year!

Marcin invited Rachel to the Chicago Botanic Gardens on a hot Saturday afternoon. He insisted he was packing "water" for the afternoon outing. Just water, nothing to see here! His family ended up joining them as they strolled through the fragrant gardens. While admiring the fountain in the English Rose Garden, Marcin turned around with his 2 year old godson, Olivier, holding a small square box! Rachel doesn’t remember exactly what he said, but shook her head excitedly. To her great surprise, Rachel's parents were joining the proposal via Facetime from their own 34th anniversary celebration dinner in Asheville! Fast forward 3 years later, Olivier is our ring bearer and we had engagement photos taken in the Botanical Gardens of Asheville.
