Joshua and I first met while we were both teaching at Ellington. He was teaching band and I was teaching first grade. I thought he was cute, but hadn't given dating much thought until my fellow first grade teacher, Katie Long, said I should go for it. She and Raven Morrison took it into their own hands to ask him out for me since I am super shy! They knew Josh was super into comic book characters, so they made a flyer to ask them out. It said, "Kryptonite may be Superman's weakness, but you're mine! Movies this weekend? Batman V. Superman." They even had one of Katie's kids deliver it! Within a few hours, Josh had texted me and said he would like to go with me. We texted a lot leading up to the date and found out we had a lot in common! For our date, we went to the Lemonade House Grille in Poplar Bluff and had a great conversation. We then went to the movies. Toward the end of the movies, I started really getting the urge to ask to hold his hand. I felt like I was going to explode from anticipation/nerves. I finally asked him and he said yes! Since then, we have been inseparable and within a few days we were officially girlfriend and boyfriend.
