3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Chazzan and Kallah will host pre-nuptial receptions shortly before the Chuppah ceremony. Rachel's reception for the women will take place in the gallery room at BMH and Michael's reception will take place in the library for the men. This will include the Badeken Ceremony as well. Hors d'oeuvres, light refreshments, and l'chaims will be served at both receptions.
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. Since the wedding will take place at an orthodox synagogue, we highly recommend choosing dresses that cover the shoulders and are knee length or longer.
The ceremony takes place beneath the chuppah. Once the bride has joined the groom under the chuppah, she will walk around him in a circle seven times. Then the rabbi will greet the guests and give the Kiddush blessing. The groom will then give the bride the simple wedding band. This is a sign that she is accepting his marriage proposal followed by the reading of the Ketubah.
