Rachael and Will connected on the dating app Tinder in the summer of 2020, not thinking they would find forever during the first few months of a global pandemic. Right after they "matched," Rachael mysteriously tested positive for asymptomatic covid. For two weeks, they texted nonstop. Texting all day turned into staying up late to FaceTime each other for hours. Finally the waiting period was over and Rachael made Will get tested for covid before she agreed to meet in person. Thank goodness he was negative. They met for a picnic at Wayfair Park around the corner from Rachael's apartment in Simi Valley, complete with a Mickey Mouse charcuterie board. The rest was history.
On a trip to visit Will's grandparents in Florida, the two snuck away for a few days at Walt Disney World. Rachael always joked that if Will embarrassed her by proposing at Magic Kingdom in front of the castle, she would say "no" to embarrass him back. They went to Disney Springs to do some shopping and of course it started pouring rain. After getting lost trying to find the shuttle busses back to their hotel, they were going to miss their dinner reservations. Will said "why don't we push the reservation back about an hour?" When they got back to the hotel room, they changed their clothes and Rachael laid down to relax for a few. Will came and sat on the bed to get her attention. When she looked up, he was holding a ring box and said "I wanted to wait, but couldn't wait any longer. Will you marry me?!" Rachael burst into tears and was speechless. So speechless that Will had to remind her that he needed an answer. She said "YES, of course yes!" to make this the most magical trip ever. They are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in their lives with you. See you in Los Angeles!
