Akwugo Arendt

Matron of Honor

For the majority of my elementary and middle school years, I made sure to fulfill my younger sister duties of being a menace and irritation to Akwugo. I’m glad that we have become friends as sisters in my high school years and thereafter. Her friendship and sisterhood has been one of a kind.

Garvin Williams

Best Man

Our friendship started over a cocoa butter bottle of lotion on a mission trip. Garvin forgot his lotion and needed it cause the kids at the mission trip we were on called him out for being ASHY and the rest is history. Our friendship is full of long FaceTime calls, rolling on the ground laughter and screaming, crying (Garvin does that not me) and reminders of God’s faithfulness. He has stood by me through some of the toughest seasons of my life. His contagious joy, love for God, fight for justice and loyalty has been inspiring through out our friendship. I truly can not imagine walking through this life without a friend like Garvin.

Ozioma Akagha

Bridesmaid

As my eldest sister, I look up to Ozioma for her thoughtfulness, ambition, and heart for people. I recall her being patient and caring towards me as the youngest of the gals while Akwugo was annoyed by me (rightfully so, I was good at being a pest). To have her in my corner is a true gift.

Adam Chaibainou

Groomsman

On paper, Adam and I friendship didn’t make sense. He loved long deep conversations, I just wanted simple chats, He was emotive and expressive, I was mellow and sassy but God put us together to lead a small group at the good ole Collin College. Adam is a man that loves people deeply. He has such an admirable confidence in whatever he does to the point that he got us lost on our trip to Austin. Lol. I’m so thankful for this friendship as I have seen God’s continuous faithful through Adam’s life

Janey Akagha

Bridesmaid

I feel honored to have a sister (in-law, or “in-love” as some say) in Janey. When I think of Janey, I think of a gal who loves love, serves with an open hand and heart, and births pretty babies. I’m thankful to be linked to this gal for life.

Austin Bailey

Groomsman

Austin is one of my first friends when I moved to the US. Our first hangout was accidental. After church lunch was at a Country Burger and the only two people that showed up were him and I. Austin reminds me some much of Mr. Rogers. He has a heart for God and his people. He is full of kindness, humility, gentleness and loyal. He is truly one of the kind. Fun fact about Austin is that he does such a great impression of Gollum from the Lord of the Rings

Kendra McKellar

Bridesmaid

Kendra became a friend by accident. What was supposed to be a group lunch became a one on one hang out with one of my favorite people ever. If I were to describe her in 3 words, I would say she is thoughtful, loving, and a mainstay. To be friends with her is to be immersed in a master class in friendship.

Nate Dolores

Groomsman

If you’ve ever thought that I know everyone then you haven’t met Nate. Nate has such a beautiful way of making people feel loved and know even when they meet for the first time. One night in college at a banquet, Nate asked to take a picture with him and do a prom pose. Little did we know that that picture would make our families think we were dating lol. Friendship with Nate allows me to be fully known and loved. Love this man so much

Elizabeth DeWitt

Bridesmaid

Elizabeth and I have known each other for over a decade, but became friends post-grad as roommates. Over the last 6 years, she has become my travel buddy, my tattoo twin, my litmus test for how to be annoying, and one of my best pals. She is blessed to know me. 😉

Jacob Schoor

Groomsman

Jacob and I were in the same college, we both worked on campus and our departments worked together but it never crossed our minds to strike a conversation until 2 years later we ran into each other at one of the college ministry events. Its one of those friendships that just made sense and had to happen. Jacob encompasses what humility and kindness should look like. He is a man that seeks to bring shalom to the people around. He is also a cyber security nerd and can talk for hours about it if you let him lol. Huge love for this guy

Amara Akagha

Flower Girl

My niece is the strongest, sweetest, and silliest addition to the Akagha clan. Now you see what I'm talking about when I say Janey births pretty babies.

Brandon Barrientos

Groomsman

Brandon and I knew of each our entire time in college. We were both involved with our college ministry, we run into each other at mutual friends events but never really talked. It was until my last year at UNT where we started becoming close friends. Some of my favorite memories are of Brandon and I dominating the dance floor at weddings. My friendship with Brandon is full of belly aching laughter, deep conversations, thrift shopping and reflection of what God has done in our lives. Huge fan of this man. Love him so much

Avery Hoskins

Flower Girl

Avery's mom, Gabby, is one of my dear friends from my time in the College of Music at UNT. We share a love of music, loving people well, and reading with one another. Being Avery's godmother is the latest and greatest gift that Gabby has given me in our friendship with one another. Avery is genuine, loving, and friendly, just like her mama.

Isaiah Lavigne

Groomsman

My friendship with Isaiah is so wholesome and I could cry (if I had any tears) at how much I love this guy. Our friendship started during my junior year and his freshman man. I was in my ‘No new friends’ era lol but I deep down knew that I needed a new friend. We both latched onto each other and grew our friendship and I view him as my little brother. Isaiah reminds me that I’m young even though my back and joints don’t agree sometimes. He is an example of a man after God’s own heart. He is patient, kind, loyal and thoughtful. I love him so much

Chisom Akagha

Officiant

As kids, Chisom would pester me to no end. It wasn't until college that he became a friend, and now a father to sweet Amara. He displays calm, care, and genuine love for others. He's been a big fan of Quincy since the beginning and represents our adjoining families. As our officiant, we are honored that he will be ushering us into this next chapter on God's behalf.

Kwacha Kachete

Ring Bearer

I am such a huge fan of KK. He is the little brother I always wanted. I got to meet him when he had just turned 1 and became best buds since then. I’ve changed his diapers, fed him, dropped and picked him up from daycare, helped potty train and got him to dance to Taylor Swift. It’s been a blessing to see him grow into a smart, inquisitive, sassy, God fearing young man. I can’t wait to see the man he becomes. Love him so much
