Growing up down the street from each other, our paths would occasionally cross. Andrew and I belonged to the same synagogue for a few years (our moms even carpooled!), and we attended the same summer camp. As we got older we began to see each other more around the neighborhood. I remember as a teenager Andrew riding his bike around and occasionally stopping to say hi. We would discuss mutual friends and both talk about how we should get together some time. Once we parted ways we would both go back to our separate lives until the next encounter. Summer of 2008: Andrew and I were both working at Camp JORI for the summer and spent a lot of time together. It was during this summer that we realized how much we had in common, began dating, and have been inseparable ever since.
Andrew and I went to visit our friends and family at Camp JORI on the last night of camp. We were walking around the waterfront, where our relationship began 8 years prior, when I mentioned how we should probably meet up with the people that we were there to visit. Andrew replied that he had a better idea, dropped down on one knee and pulled out a ring!
