How We Met (Jordan's View)

"The great Julie Harsha sitting down with us peasants!"

I didn't know much about her except that she was "The Great Julie Harsha." The Disney princess that all other Disney princesses admired and talked about. So, when I arrived at my friend's house for the first time, knowing that she was his roommate, I knew I was bound to bump into her. As my friend is giving me the "two cent" tour of his house, we walk by Julie's room where her door is cracked open and we're introduced. She gives an adorable little wave and a smile and is quickly back to her computer typing something and looking busy...possibly trading stocks or whatever celebrity princesses do. Later, as my friend and I are watching a movie, Julie comes out say hello and leaves for the grocery store. She returns soon after we had finished our movie and had moved onto a tv show. She puts away her items from the store but instead of heading back to her room, she fixes herself a snack (canned wine, a tuna sandwich and blueberries) and sits down with us. The great Julie Harsha sitting down with us peasants! The three of us start talking and before I know it thirty minutes had passed and my friend hadn't said a word. Julie and I sat there and talked and talked about anything and everything, realizing that we were the same. This stunning girl that was THE Disney princess was someone real that I related to in every way and I knew her instantly. I was done for.

How We Met (Julie's View)

“I just met the actual guy of my dreams. I think I’m going to marry him.”

I’ll never forget June 18, 2017. My roommate told me he was having a friend over to watch Lord of the Rings. He proceeded to tell me that this friend of his was “a singer at Disney”. Perhaps I accidentally looked up this “singer” on the Internet - that’s what we all do in this day and age, right?! I had never seen anything so wonderful in my entire life. As he arrived at our house, there was a 0% chance I was leaving my room. He was 100% out of my league and I knew that if given the chance to speak to him, I would fall incredibly short of words. I decided it was best to stay in my room and avoid any embarrassment. Minutes after arriving, I heard my roommate giving Jordan a tour of our home. They came closer and closer to my room. Panicked, I realized I needed to come up with a plan to make me appear “busy”. As I heard a knock on my door, I immediately grabbed my laptop (blank screen and all because it was dead - but hey, he would never know, right?) After very casually saying “come in!” They opened the door. Thank goodness my plan worked and I appeared incredibly busy on my computer - likely trading stocks or tending to important business matters. I waved “hello, nice to meet you”, but on the inside my heart skipped a beat at what I saw in my doorway. And then he was gone. I knew I needed a plan. Roughly 2 hours later I worked up the courage to walk out into the living room and announce that I was going to the grocery store to buy some wine. Did I need to go to the grocery store for wine? No, I had gone that morning. But my plan worked. Upon arriving back at the house I sat myself on the couch next to my roommate and this “singer”. The rest is history. The next day, I texted my sister Brooklyn and said “I just met the actual guy of my dreams. I think I’m going to marry him.” And here we are. It’s funny how the second you stop trying, God says “here you go!” And the man of your dreams appears at your front door. One chapter down, one lifetime to go.
