One warm starry night on Kalamazoo College campus, a young man overheard a compelling phone call of a young woman with her mother discussing something funky in her room. As he listened in, he realized she was crying. He reached out to check on her only to find out she was crying about her roommates stinky shoes in the window making the whole room smell bad. He thought, it can't be that bad and wandered down to the second floor, where he was smacked with a smell as soon as he opened the door. Upon realizing just how serious it was, he offered his roommates bed to help her get some relief for the night... the rest was history. Dancing at parties together, having meals together with friends in the café, to finally coming to watch some softball games, he was hooked.
All morning I got dolled up, looking nice thinking we were going to take pictures. Unbeknown to me, he planned an elaborate proposal underneath my nose. Thinking he was still stuck at football, I text him asking him to meet at Kindleberger Park to take some cute photos. Walking up to the gazebo, I realized he was already there, looking dapper in some new dress pants. As the music played, he took my hands and said "I want a forever love". He took out a customized ring box and asked me to marry him, and I said yes. Getting down on one knee he asked again, "Will you marry me?" I answered again, this time with "Yes, yes, YES!" while holding back tears as he slid the perfect ring onto my finger. When we looked up, to my surprise tons of friends and family were there to enjoy the moment with us.
