Peter and Sydney first knew of each other through their moms, who worked in the same ministry. Although they technically met through a children's ministry summer training program, Peter was a quiet boy and Sydney was too shy to say anything, and their lives went different directions. However, thanks to Facebook, both moms kept each other updated on their kids' whereabouts throughout the years.
In March, Sydney moved home from UCLA due to the stay-at-home order. Around the same time, Peter's mom gave him one last nudge to get to know "the sweetest girl." Seizing the opportunity when Sydney posted a vlog reflecting on her college years, Peter slid into her DM's (for the older generation: he reached out to her). They hit it off right away, staying up till 3am chatting about The Office and other common interests. Not long after, Peter asked Sydney on their first date. Through many heartfelt conversations about the meaning of marriage and their future goals, their relationship grew.
After getting married, Peter and Sydney plan to move into their dream apartment in Northridge. Peter will continue to work on the Audio/Visual Team at Grace Community Church, and Sydney will be teaching music part-time. "So that's about it." -Kevin Malone
