Josh – Our first date was on July, 4th 2018 at Salt Lake Coffee Break in downtown SLC. Many of you may have heard this is where we met, however, we actually met on Tinder....yup you heard that right. Luckily, we bonded over our mutual excitement to finalize our education and pursue our professional careers. While the conversation was engaging, the libations were less than ideal for Sam. Sam doesn't like coffee, so that was the first and last time we had coffee together. This was also the beginning of the never-ending boycott of my impeccable mustache. Sam – We made the relationship official on August 18th, 2018. While this timeline seemed reasonable the proposal was extremely delayed. Waiting four years to get engaged in Utah is a looooong time. In my opinion, waiting four years is a long time for anyone! Josh’s grandmother, Nai Nai, agreed with me. While visiting her in France, she beat Josh to it. In the kitchen, preparing dinner, Nai Nai got down on one knee and asked me to marry her Joshua. Of course, I said yes! Josh – In my opinion, this was an unsanctioned operation, with compromised validity. The "official" engagement went down a little differently. I created an upscaled version of our second date on our fourth anniversary weekend. We went to Tona for some delicious sushi and beelined it to the mountains for sunset. There, down on one knee, I asked Sam to marry me....officially. The expected outcome was achieved, Sam could not contain herself and squeaked and squealed with excitement the entire ride home. Sam – Not long after our engagement, we decided to start looking for houses and made another immense life decision and bought our first home together in Logan, UT. I was so excited to share all my fun decorations and knick-knacks with Josh. However, Josh was not nearly as excited about the porcelain cow heads in our bathroom, the number of seashells in our bedroom, or my breathtaking plant collection in our office. We eventually compromised on keeping all of these things and more. Thank you for taking the time to read a little more about how we became Josh & Sam. More adventures and stories to come!
