If you don't already know, then you're probably on the wrong website. ;)
Preston and I are both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday-Saints (i.e., we're Mormons!). We love God and each other and are so grateful that we can learn and grow in faith together. However, Mormons do a few things a little differently when they get married. We will be married during a private religious ceremony, called a Temple Marriage Sealing, in the beautiful Laie Hawaii Temple. This sacred ceremony is a commitment we make with God and each other, that allows us to be together for life and the eternities beyond - not just "until death do we part." The Temple Marriage Sealing is one of our most sacred rituals and is reserved only for members of the church with special permission to enter the temple. Please keep in mind that because of its sacred nature, it is not open to the public. For more information on Temple Marriage Sealings, copy this link into your browser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gA6aTiMDYho
Because of the private & sacred nature of the Temple Marriage Sealing, we have planned a Ring Ceremony on January 30, 2021 - following our Temple Marriage Sealing, where all of our family and friends can celebrate in our commitment to each other. Since the Temple Marriage Sealing does not include the exchange of rings, we will do that during the Ring Ceremony. In other words, you'll still get to see us walk down the aisle, exchange rings and say how much we love each other - just without the “I do” vows portion. So don’t worry - we're saving all the mushy gushy stuff for you!
We ask that you only bring those listed under your name on the RSVP page on our website. Due to limited seating, all seats have been accounted for.
Although we LOVE your children, our venue has a strict number of guests we are allowed so this will be an adult-only affair. We hope you'll see this celebration as a day to relax, have fun, and enjoy a date night or night out on us! Lap babies (under 2) welcomed.
There is limited parking at the venue so please carpool as much as possible and arrive early.
For obvious reasons (we're LDS aka "Mormon", duh) - this will be an alcohol-free event but we will have some amazing mocktails!!
Attire: Aloha/Garden. We're not ones to tell you what to wear, but if you want some inspiration, think linen or khaki pants, short-sleeved button downs, maxi dresses, and low-heeled or flat sandals (we'll be walking on a grassy lawn).
Yes! Please check out the "Travel" tab for recommendations on hotels.
Please stay home and let us know as soon as possible.
The health and safety of our guests is of the utmost importance. As we work to navigate these unprecedented times, we are relying on guidance from the Hawaii regulations as well as healthcare professionals to ensure that our wedding is a safe event for all. With that said, we will implement the below safety measures: - All guests and vendors will be asked to pass a temperature screening upon arriving at the venue - Wearing a mask is required except when you are seated in your seat at the ceremony or at your table during the reception. - This is an outdoor venue, so open-air will help with circulation - Hand sanitation towers will be available throughout the venue - Seating arrangements will follow state & CDC regulations for restaurants. We will do our best to seat guests in the same family households. - Social distancing
Not at all! We are so thankful for all of our family and friends, and we want to respect everyone's individual decision to do what they are most comfortable with. We just ask that you please only RSVP only if you feel 100% comfortable with attending and to let us know if you are not able to attend as soon as possible.
