Our story began in August of 2020. August is a special month where we found each other and our beautiful love story begins in the City of Dreams; New York City where people achieve their dreams and explore themselves in a diverse and busy environment. Tin is a Mechanical Engineer from New York City and Prem is an IT professional from New Jersey. Coincidentally, we both lost our dads in 2006 (same year) and growing up with a widow mother, Both of us have strong personalities and gone through life's challenges with wisdom and grace that we can understand each other so well like two peas in a pod. After losing someone we love the most at a young age, we understood how life is precious and value all challenges and obstacles we have overcome that made us who we are today and live by the quote "Life is short, so enjoy it to the fullest and live the life you've imagined". Therefore, we see a potential in a natural rapport with one another. People say, “love at first sight,” well in our case it was love at first "conversation". Our love sparked after having our first heartfelt conversation sharing our life experiences, struggles, and goals. Prem was impressed by Tin’s unique character, how she beats to the rhythm of her own drum. She is free spirited, creative, and independent. No woman had ever paid the bill on the first date for Prem’s entire life until Tin showed up! For Tin, she admires Prem’s uniqueness, breadth of knowledge, ambitions, sense of adventure, and self-made character. We have fallen in love with each other mind and soul like two puzzle pieces that fit right in and complete each other from day one! We shared our first kiss a week later on a camping trip where Prem asked Tin to be his girlfriend. Then on our romantic adventure truly began! Love is a beautiful thing that happens between two hearts, it sees no race, religion nor does it matter not where we come from. Tin is a Buddhist, Chinese American, born in Myanmar (Chinese parents) and raised in United States. Prem on the other hand, is Hindu, south Indian, born in South India then brought up in United States. In each other we discovered surprisingly unshakable bond, and our differences are what makes us unique and beautiful and bring us an exciting journey and endless explorations with love and respect. Prem met Tin’s family in Maryland at a family Christmas gathering in 2020. Prem proposed to Tin in the city she loves at one of the New York City Skyscrapers in August 2021 and they celebrated the engagement night with their friends. Due to Prem's family being overseas, we decided to postpone our wedding until both of our families could meet in person. Tin met Prem’s family in India for the first time in August 2022. We bought our first house together in December 2023 and Prem's family finally visited us in the USA in January of 2024. Then both of our families finally met and we began with wedding planning in the beginning of the year of 2024. As you all know, August is an incredibly special month for us when all of our special life changing moments happen. This is to celebrate the day our lives become complete. We deeply appreciate all your love and support over the last 4 years and are so excited to celebrate with you all a day of fun, food, dancing, and drinks-which hopefully none of us will ever forget. We express our deepest gratitude for joining us in honoring the eternal love, sharing laughter, and embracing the promise of a lifetime of happiness!
