It all began three years ago, in the world of modern romance, on a little app called Hinge. James, with his deep love for 90's country music, was drawn to Gilly's profile. There was something intriguing about her, something that sparked curiosity. So, he took the first step and initiated the conversation, asking a simple but telling question: "What's your favorite country song?" Now, here's where our story takes a twist. Gilly, being a fan of current pop-country music, couldn't have been more different from James in terms of musical tastes. It could have been the end of the road right there. However, they didn't let this difference deter them. They talked, shared, and laughed for several weeks, discovering common ground beyond the world of music. But then, just when it seemed like their connection was blossoming into something beautiful, Gilly suddenly disappeared. She claimed her phone had mysteriously "updated" and she could no longer receive James's Hinge messages. It could have been a classic ghosting moment, but James wasn't ready to give up just yet. In a bold move, James reached out one more time and Gilly reluctantly shared her phone number with James, and from that moment on, their conversation never stopped.

In the midst of a world grappling with COVID-19 and the need for social distancing, our first date was a memorable adventure that brought us closer together in unexpected ways. James, being the thoughtful and creative soul that he is, suggested a delightful picnic in the park as a safe and enjoyable way to connect. Our rendezvous point was Playa Vista at Hop Doddy, where James arrived with a bag full of Mango Cart Seltzers and the classic game Connect 4. As we settled into our cozy picnic spot, we couldn't help but feel the excitement in the air. What unfolded was pure magic. We quickly realized how our lives mirrored one another, with countless connections in our upbringing that seemed almost too serendipitous to be true. As the hours slipped by, we found ourselves completely lost in each other's company. Four hours flew by in what felt like an instant. It was a date that left us both eagerly anticipating the next time we could be in each other's presence.

Just two months into their incredible dating adventure, Gilly whisked James away to the sunny shores of San Diego for a birthday weekend filled with museums, dinners on the water, and endless walks near the water. As the sun set on a perfect day of celebrations, Gilly couldn't contain her excitement any longer. Before James even had a chance to ask, she eagerly asked him what their relationship status was. Without a moment's hesitation, James jumped at the opportunity and made it official.

To know how we got to the proposal, you have to understand our 2nd date together. James quickly texted Gilly after their first date in hopes of seeing her again. He planned on having another picnic, but this time including all of Gilly’s Favorite things: the beach, sunsets, charcuterie boards, and wine. He set the date, bought a blind wine-tasting package online, and created the most glorious charcuterie board. When they both arrived at the beach Gilly suggested they start by putting their feet in the water. As they blissfully held hands at the water, a swarm of birds caught James’ eye. They immediately sprinted back to their cheese board that was being devoured by seagulls. They managed to shoo them away and save most of the charcuterie board…. except for the Truffle Gouda cheese! Now Fast forward 2 ½ years! As Gilly and James prepared to explore the world on their 19-day trip around Europe, James was up to some planning of his own. Two days Prior to their departure, James whisked Gilly off to that same beach they had their second date on. This time he came extra prepared, bringing the three most important things: wine, truffle gouda cheese, and a ring! In an intimate moment between the two of them, James popped down on one need and asked Gilly for a lifetime together! She said Yes immediately and they were off to celebrate!
