Nathan and I were classmates throughout engineering college. In our final year of college, we both were elected onto the E-board for Tau Beta Pi- an Engineering Honors Society. We spent a lot of time together around that time- little did I know that was the beginning to a whole new life adventure. Nathan moved away for work after graduation and I continued at Wayne for medical school in Detroit. Until graduating from medical school, Nathan and I saw each other a few times a year. Little did we realize how difficult not living in the same city was. Fortunately for both of us, we were excited when I graduated from my last years in school and found out I was staying here in Detroit for residency. Nathan moved back to be closer to family and for us to not have to do long distance any more. I feel like it was at that time when we really learned how much we enjoyed each other's company. We realized what it meant to grow together, how to respect each other, and work through the what most adults would say a life that feels like a hike through the mountains- figuratively speaking of course. After a year of struggling through my first year of a general surgery residency did Nathan ask me the question which brought us to celebrate this monumental occasion.... no it wasn't "Do you want to get Taco Bell for dinner?" haha. Through all of the ups and downs in our journey together, 6 years later are we so very appreciative to share this moment with all of you. Please join us in launching our new adventure together. All of you have played a part in who we are today and are the reason we fit together like puzzle pieces. Thank you all very much and we hope to see you soon!
