Andrew and Ellen first met at their mutual friend's apartment (thanks JRat!). After many a fun time together, Andrew finally started asking Ellen out. Their first date was at Chef's Special and, like most good first dates, ended with neither party entirely sure that they were actually out on a date. A second much-delayed date of dinner, drinks, and board games confirmed that neither individual had any game (board or otherwise). Despite these awkward first encounters, they continued to go on dates and they fell further in love with one another.
After a long weekend of stressing over having a ring in the house and not on Ellen's finger, Andrew invited Ellen to go for a picnic in Humboldt Park, just down the street from their apartment. They found a nice spot on top of the sledding hill where they threw down a blanket and did some reading, watched a humorously chaotic little league baseball game, and chatted about their feelings. When they finally had the hill to themselves, Andrew asked Ellen to sit up as he got on one knee and asked her to marry him. Things then get fuzzy, as they both had an engagement-related black-out. Ellen took the ring in her hand and squeezed it tight and, after saying "this is crazy" approximately twenty times, eventually said yes to his proposal. After a little more hill-top celebration, they walked home hand in hand to make some calls to let everyone know. Just as they were then, they are incredibly excited to celebrate this next chapter in their lives with you. See you in Saint Louis!
