Pooja and Jash met through Dil Mil. They were both trying their final luck on the app before calling it quits. When they matched and talked for the first time, the same day Pooja confided in her friend and expressed that she was going to marry Jash based on her gut feeling. However, a few days later after talking nonstop day in and day out, Jash had ghosted Pooja! With Pooja in CT for graduate school and Jash in NJ for medical school rotations, long distance relationship was questionable. Luckily, with the guidance and reassurance from friends, Jash reconnected with Pooja and decided to give it a real shot. Jash planned the first date in CT at the famous Frank Pepe's in New Haven. On that date, they both knew this was something special and real.

Pooja and Jash were set to travel to Italy in Spring of 2020. However, Covid-19 had begun to take over country by country. Italy had banned travel, therefore, plans were canceled. They then booked trip to Greece, which was canceled shortly after. With the world in chaos, and Jash's plans in chaos, they booked a trip to Cancun the night before and set off. Pooja, at this time, did not think Jash would propose anymore. However, during their visit to Tulum Archeological Zones of Mayan Ruins, Jash found his perfect moment. It was a hot day, Pooja and Jash were standing at the cliff overlooking the turquoise colored sea and under the hot beating sun. Pooja, getting slightly annoyed that Jash wanted to stand under the sun longer vs the shades under the trees, was begging Jash to move along the trail. However, Jash, nervous and sweaty started saying sweet loving words and that's when Pooja knew. He got down on one knee and asked the long waited question and of course you know what Pooja said: "I hate you" and then "YES!" with lots of love.
