If you can fly into Bangor that is great as driving from Bangor to Bar Harbor [or Ellsworth] will be about an hour an a half. If you find better flights landing in Portland, you can expect a drive of 3 hours plus [but hey you can stop in Freeport for some outlet shopping, as well as Belfast and Camden on your way up the coast!].

There are a lot of great rental options in and around the Mount Desert Island area. If you want, you can even stay in a yurt! How special is that. VRBO seems to have more options than AirBnB in Maine.

If you are having trouble with finding rooms [or the Bar Harbor Prices] look along Route 3 from Trenton to Bar Harbor. There are several cottage/motel options along this route and it will be only a 15 minute drive to the venue. These ones are rustic but so adorable.
