Leave it to Travis and Rachel to meet during a full national shut down! They met on Bumble of all places. Both of them made a serious decision to put their all into online dating and it finally paid off. They matched just before the start of the school year which as you know is “busy season” for Rachel. Unfortunately for Travis, Rachel was so busy that she forgot to text him for 3 days after getting his number. With, not a ton of hope, because she thought she blew it, Rachel texted Travis to say hey. Travis gave her a shot anyway. With some back and forth (because everywhere was closed) and going to a few locations they thought were open, they landed at the Ambrosia Diner in Catskill. The date went so well they didn’t want it to end so they found a place for some snacks and a cold beer at Cask and Rasher. Being that it was early September and outdoor only seating was still a thing, they started to get a little chilly. Rachel’s dad, so generously, brought some sweatshirts for them not knowing what the future would hold. Rachel texted all her friends with an excited “I really like him!” and they of course said “you would meet someone in a pandemic.” Travis told all of his friends “I have a crush on a teacher, I’ve always wanted to have a crush on a teacher.” Travis also told his mom that he thought Rachel was beautiful. Fast forward to today, Rachel and Travis bought a house only a few miles from where that first date happened. They both cannot say enough how much they love each others families. After that first date it all seemed pretty effortless. Travis and Rachel are so excited to share the start of this new chapter with all of their family and friends!
