It was the start of another school year, first year of high school for myself and second time around the block for Derek as he embarked on his sophomore year. It was just after lunch when I entered the music hall to head over to Orchestra class. The bell rung and I took my seat next to my friend Elizabeth Grey. Few minute after class begun the door of the orchestra room swong open and in walked a tall tanned boy with one headphone stuck in his ear. I still remember this moment as time seemed to move slow as I looked towards the door. The tall tanned boy was Derek. I still remember the bright yellow shirt and the long bowl cut he was styling. I thought to myself “Woah who’s this guy”? Derek then walked over and took the seat in front of me and little did I know what fate had in store for us.

It was October 2017 when Derek’s Brother Charles Schwab picked me up with his friends to meet Derek at Universal to attend another year of our favorite event of the year! Halloween Horror Nights has been a tradition for us since we first started dating. Derek took me to my first HHN event the first year we started dating. The whole night is filled with spooky houses and out of this world staging. There has never been a year where we didn’t have a good time. This year I would come to find out was going to be one of the most memorable nights of my life. The night started out amazing and we got through our first houses. Charles and his friends where walked in front both Derek and I as we headed over to our next house when Derek started to try and spook me as we went through scare zone. I turned to see where the rest of the group went. I turned to look at Derek and tell him to move quicker because we where getting left behind. I turned to look for our group one more time and they where no where to be seen. I looked back at Derek when I found him on one knee. “What are you doing? Quit messing around!” I began to say as he waived for me to come closer. He reached for his pocket to retreave a little box. He opened to reveal a beautiful diamond ring! I wouldn’t believe my eyes! As we proceed to propose to me a crowd of people gathered around us to witness our big moment! Here is a hint: I said YES!
