we're getting married!

We met when our friends invited us to attend the Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest on the Fourth of July in 2017. Alongside the obvious allure of Joey Chestnut consuming a record 72 hot dogs in 10 minutes, we immediately hit it off and spent the rest of the day hanging with friends on Brighton Beach. To this day, neither of us can remember the actual date of when we made things official so we're thrilled to start a new anniversary in 2022 that others can help us remember!

Phoebe already had a feeling Mike was planning an engagement. When the day came around, Mike wanted to visit one of our favorite places in the city, Brooklyn Bridge Park, but the weather was rainy and 50 degrees. Phoebe questioned it, but Mike insisted that we should keep the plans instead of moving our park date later in the weekend when it was predicted to be sunny and 70 degrees. Turns out, the less than ideal weather meant we had the park to ourselves, so when Mike popped the question in a picturesque spot across the river from the downtown Manhattan skyline, we had the park to ourselves to pop some champagne and celebrate!
