We met the "new-fashioned way", online; not Tinder, not Hinge, not Bumble or Plenty-of-Fish, we met on Match. Today it seems we are all connected by a click, a key-stroke, a message, and sometimes a call. I can't say that 20 years ago, we would have ever met. Our story is unique, it is beautiful, it is ours. Ashley and I first met for dinner in Birkdale, accompanied by our dogs, Benji and Maggie. We bonded quickly over our furry companions and soon found ourselves talking to each other daily, dating frequently, and enjoying each others company. Both of us were at a place in our lives where we wanted more; we had both experienced our share of ups and downs with relationships and had high hopes for this one. Nearly 2 months after we first met, we both knew that we wanted to spend every day of our lives together. That is profound love! We found something special in each other; respect, support, and honesty are a few qualities among the many we found with each other. We chose to elope on July 21, 2017 in Asheville, NC for many reasons and do not regret this choice; however, we want each of you to know that this was a hard decision to make. We have been married for almost 9 months and grow closer each and every day. I can say that I am a better man with Ashley by my side. We are so excited to celebrate our 1 year anniversary with Ashley's family in her home country. Most of us dream of having a large wedding with friends and family present, so we are very excited to have the opportunity to celebrate our life together in Hanoi, Vietnam. We hope that you will be able to join us, but also understand this would be a large voyage for many of you to make. Know that we appreciate your love, kind support and friendship, and we feel fortunate to have you in our life.
