Annie and Phillip met at the Six Flags end-of-year trip when they were 15 years old. Though they had gone most of their freshman year at St. Anthony's without knowing each other, their friendship began to take shape that day between the roller coasters, fueled by excessive amounts of candy. Friendship turned into something more as they learned more about one another. By the time they were 17, it was easy to see they were more than just friends. They started dating on August 10th 2012 as they began their senior year. Everything just clicked. From that day forward, Annie and Phillip have grown as individuals and together as a couple. They have withstood the tests of long distance, separate adventures, college, career decisions and building ikea furniture, coming out on the other end stronger and more in love than ever before. Looking ahead to marriage, they cannot wait to start this next chapter together.
On a Tuesday in August, Phillip planned to give Annie a gift to celebrate their 8th year together. He told Annie that he had commissioned Charlotte, Annie’s sibling, to paint a live portrait of the two of them to get some special artwork to hang in their new apartment. They met in a community garden on their block, and Annie was not even a little fazed when her cousin Samantha showed up to take some pictures of Charlotte painting. Charlotte started sketching as the couple sat on a garden bench. Phillip got down on one knee just as Charlotte turned the canvas around to reveal a gorgeous painting of a proposal scene. With happy tears in their eyes, Annie said yes. The group headed back to Annie and Phillip's apartment, surprised to see family gathered together to celebrate.
