July 20 Update: Holy Spirit Catholic Church has created a hybrid indoor-outdoor nuptial mass celebration to observe Gov. Gavin Newsom's newest order prohibiting indoor church activity. Chairs are bring-your-own if you're local, and guests will be seated just outside the church's doors, where they can observe the wedding ceremony happening in the church's narthex. We will be doing everything we can to mitigate the heat, providing fans and creating shade, but dress for an outdoor ceremony in triple-digit heat. We're sorry for the inconvenience. We're still excited to celebrate with you! Older updates: We moved the wedding to Fresno, California. The ceremony will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in north Fresno and the reception will be at the home of JoAnna's maternal grandparents. We also had to cut our guest list by more than half, which we did with heavy hearts. Invitations were sent on June 29 and went out on June 30.
When we sat down at our table at Blue Hill in New York City, he said, "So we are celebrating something today: I got a raise." He was keen on throwing me off the scent. After dinner, undoubtedly the best meal of our lives, and the best service, we walked toward our friends' apartment. When we kept walking, he admitted that we were taking a detour. He gave a little speech, and it was just us and a guy walking his dog. The dog-walker realized what was going on and veered off. Phil (not the dog-walker) got down on one knee with the Jersey City skyline as the backdrop. I was incoherent. It was perfect.
