What airport should I fly into?

Answer

T.F. Green Airport (PVD) is located at 2000 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886 and is approximately a 30 minute drive (11-12 miles) to the center of Newport. Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is approximately a 1.5 hour drive (74 miles) to the city of Newport.

Is there a toll on the Claiborne Pell (Newport) Bridge?

Answer

Yes. If traveling over the Claiborne Pell Bridge there is a $4.00 toll for two-axle vehicles both traveling to and from Newport. There are lanes for cash and EZ-Pass, as well as a fast lane for EZ-Pass only on the left. If traveling from Rte. 24 on the east side of the bay (passing through Portsmouth and Middletown) you will cross the Sakonnet River Bridge, which does not incur a toll.

What is parking like in downtown Newport?

Answer

Newport has an abundance of parking options. The city of Newport runs its meters from May 1 - October 31. If parking in a metered spot downtown, make sure to pay the meter with coin or card. Metered spots run along parts of Thames Street, Broadway, America's Cup and Memorial Blvd. There is also street parking on side streets all around Newport, on Bellevue, Spring St. and lower Thames St. Just be sure to read the parking signs to ensure you aren't in a residential parking area and that you are parking in the correct timeframe. There are also many parking lots you may utilize and here is a list of a few that are in walking distance to our wedding venue, The Bohlin: Mary St. Parking Lot located at 17 Mary St. Parking Garage located at 1 W Marlborough St. Clarke Street Parking Lot Parking at The Mooring Restuarant (close to the venue but pricier) Parkplatz Newport located at 181-199 Bellevue Ave. Newport (located a short walk down Memorial Blvd. to the venue)

Does Newport have ride share?

Answer

Yes, Uber and Lyft both service Newport and are usually readily available. There is also the Island Taxi company (401) 846-2500.

What is the wedding attire?

Answer

The wedding will be cocktail attire. For the women this is a cocktail dress. For the men this is a suit and tie or sport coat.
